Welcome to Engineering Clouds

Welcome

Hello! Welcome to Engineering Clouds, where I’ll be sharing my passion and experiences with all things Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Native and Kubernetes.

My name is Karl, or @Karl_ITNerd if you follow me on the site previously known as Twitter.

A New Coat of Paint

I decided to rebrand and relaunch my blog with a new name and a new focus: Engineering Clouds. I was previously writing on irishtechie.cloud where I talked about Azure and Microsoft 365, as well as my experiences in the tech industry. You can expect to see more of the same here, but with a more specific focus on DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Cloud Native technologies.

Who Am I?

I have been working in the IT industry for over 10 years, and I am currently a Cloud Architect and Consultant at Avanade UK. I’m a passionate advocate for cloud native technologies, particularly Kubernetes. I enjoy working with customers, helping them to realise their potential using the power and agility of DevOps and the Cloud. I am also a strong believer in the power of community. I’m a serial helper of people, and I love to learn knew things, share my knowledge and help other people succeed in their careers.

I’m a Microsoft MVP in the Azure space, a co-host of the Cloud Native Weekly show, and co-organiser of the Azure Cloud Native and Limerick DotNet and Azure User Groups. Find out more in the Community section on the Home page.

What to expect

I have learned a lot from the amazing tech community, and I want to give back by sharing my knowledge, experience, and passion for technology with you.

You can expect articles on a wide variety of topics covering DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Cloud Native technologies. I will also be sharing my experiences and learnings from my career in the tech industry, as well as my experiences in the community.

Thank You

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy reading these articles and that you find them useful. If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions for topics you’d like me to cover, please feel free to reach out to me on Twitter or LinkedIn.
